Fire Hose Reels
Strong & Robust
Fire Hose reels are an effective and easy to use medium of fighting fire risk. The strong and robust quality together with its 30 meter hose and adjustable nozzle makes it a preferred option when fire threatens. Hose Reels are also very versatile in that they are ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.
Portable Fire-Fighting Appliance
The fire hose reel is also, by definition, considered to be a portable fire-fighting appliance, due to its extended hose feature. Since the fire hose reel uses water, it is only effective against Class A fires.
Full Range of Spares
NextGen Fire supplied Fire Hoses and Hose Reels are manufactured to SABS standards in compliance with SANS 543. A full range of spares is also available to fix and maintain your equipment as cost effective solution in protecting your assets.
Maintenance
Fire Hose Reels must be serviced every 12 months (or sooner). It is a requirement of the OSH Act that all hose reels must be maintained in accordance with the Manufacturers specifications and SANS 1475.
Servicing
Servicing of hose reels may only be undertaken by registered SAQCC-Fire 1475 competent persons, who are employed by a SANS 1475 approved company. Servicing and servicing intervals must comply with SANS 1475.
Not a General Source of Water
Due to their strong pressure and versatility, fire hose reels are a tempting source of water for general maintenance and other uses. Make sure that your hose reel is not being used for these purposes as not only could it shorten the lifespan of your equipment but also increase your water bill.
Covers & Cabinets
A range of covers and cabinets are also available which may help extend the lifespan of your equipment
Fire Hydrants, Boosters and Standpipes Sales and Maintenance
Connection Point
A fire hydrant is a connection point by which firefighters can access an unlimited water supply whereby they connect their layflat hoses thus enabling water to be directed towards the main body of the fire. It is a component of active fire protection.
Only Source of (Unlimited) Water
Fire hydrants and boosters are the most essential fire-fighting equipment available. They are the only source of (unlimited) water that is dedicated to fight fire and that, usually, is situated outside a building. If a fire hydrant fails, there will be little that even professional fire fighters can do.
Clean at All Times
All parts and valves of a fire hydrant and booster should be clean at all times so that doesn’t become difficult to connect a hose during an emergency where every minute may count. Rust and other hazards on the equipment can delay the connection of the hoses and in turn delay the process of putting down flames.
Maintenance
Hydrants should be inspected on a regular basis at least once a year. Flow Testing of Fire Hydrant Points using advanced machinery to ensure your premises comply with SANS 10400 requirements.
